
TUCKER BIDDLECOMBE was appointed as the choral director at Tallahassee's Lawton Chiles High School in 2003, where he directs a
vocal program encompassing
180 enrolled students. He directs five curricular ensembles including
entry-level men's and women's choruses, two advanced mixed ensembles, and the award-winning women's choir Belle Chantique. Mr. Biddlecombe
hails from Buffalo, New York, and holds degrees from the Crane School of
Music in New York State, and Florida State University, where he studied
choral music with Dan Gordon and André Thomas, respectively. Ensembles under
his direction have performed at ACDA conventions on the state and division
level, most recently at the Southern Division convention in Louisville,
Kentucky. He was awarded National Board Teacher Certification in 2007, and was
voted Lawton Chiles High School's 'Teacher of the Year' for the 2007-2008
school year. He is also a published composer, with choral works
printed by Alliance and Walton Music. In addition to his
teaching duties, Mr. Biddlecombe works with his wife,
Mary, as associate music director and organist at the Episcopal Church of
the Advent in Tallahassee. He is currently a board member of the Florida Vocal
Association,
and an active member of ACDA, FMEA, MENC, the Festival Singers of Florida, and the Tallahassee Community Chorus.
